“I first heard about the exchange program by chance when I came across with an Eastern Illinois student, I met just as I was returning from studying abroad in İzmir, Turkey. I knew I wanted to come to Eastern Mediterranean University from then on because I love the Turkish language, history, and culture. I decided to do a research project while I was studying here. And so, I wrote an undergraduate thesis on the connection between my two favorite subjects (and my double majors) foreign language and international relations. While gathering data for my thesis and attending my classes on campus, I had a chance to meet so many incredible people and learn so much about the fascinating history of this island. I really appreciated the EMU Student Exchange Office for giving me these opportunities."
